In this tutorial we will show you how to install Movable type using Softaculous<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Movable Type is a free content management system (CMS), that is used for creating web pages, and blogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Installing Movable Type<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
  1. Login to your cPanel<\/a>.<\/li>
  2. Under the Software\/Services<\/em> section, click the Softaculous<\/strong> button.

  3. In the search box type \u201cmovable type\u201d then hit the Enter<\/strong> key. You will be taken to the Movable Type page.

  4. You will be taken to the Software Setup<\/em> menu. Fill in the fields as needed, below is a description of the options.
    Option<\/th> Description<\/th> <\/tr>
    Choose Protocol<\/td>

    Choose how you want the domain to display in the address bar, remember the https addresses require an SSL<\/a>. Available options are:
    https:\/\/, https:\/\/www., https:\/\/, and https:\/\/www.<\/p> <\/td> <\/tr>

    Choose Domain<\/td> Choose the domain you want to install Movable Type on from the drop-down list. Your primary domain, and any addon or parked domains will be listed.<\/td> <\/tr>
    In Directory<\/td> Enter the directory you want to install Movable Type in, if you leave this blank it will install in the public_html. If you enter \u2018movable_type\u2019 here, you will access the site on:
    mydomain.com\/movable_type<\/td> <\/tr>
    Web Directory<\/td> Enter the directory you want to install Movable Type in, if you leave this blank it will install in the public_html. If you enter \u2018blog\u2019 here, you will access the site on:
    mydomain.com\/blog<\/td> <\/tr>
    Database Name<\/td> Enter a name for your database here. (A database must be created when you install this software)<\/td> <\/tr>
    Site Name<\/td> Enter a name for your site here.<\/td> <\/tr>
    Site Description<\/td> Enter some information regarding your site here, this can be modified later.<\/td> <\/tr>
    Admin Username<\/td> The name you enter here will be the username you use to to login to the Administrator\u2019s area.<\/td> <\/tr>
    Admin Password<\/td> Create a password, this will be used to login to the Administrator\u2019s section.<\/td> <\/tr>
    First Name<\/td> Enter the first name of the site Administrator.<\/td> <\/tr>
    Last Name<\/td> Enter the last name of the site Administrator.<\/td> <\/tr>
    Admin Email<\/td> Enter a valid email address, if you forget your password an email will be sent to this address in order to reset it.<\/td> <\/tr>
    Email installation details to<\/td> If you enter an email address, a summary of the Movable Type installation will be sent to the address. I recommend using this feature and saving the email for future reference.<\/td> <\/tr> <\/tbody> <\/table> <\/li>
  5. After entering your preferred settings in the fields click the Install<\/strong> button on the bottom. You will see a message stating \u201cCongratulations, the software was installed successfully\u201d, and a summary of the installation.
