In this article we\u2019ll go over how you can send a message to a list in phpList now that you should have a few list setup.<\/p>\n

If you don\u2019t have any lists setup you can read our previous article on how to manage lists in phpList<\/a>, as the 2nd section covers creating a new list.<\/p>\n

  1. Login to your phpList admin dashboard<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. \"click<\/a>\n
    <\/div>\n

    From the right-hand menu, click on send a message<\/strong>. On the send a message<\/strong> page, there will be 6 tabs across the top, here is a breif description of what you can do on each:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
    Content<\/th>\nActual message content will go here, such as the Subject<\/strong>, From Line<\/strong>, the Message<\/strong> itself, and the Message Footer<\/strong>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Format<\/th>\nSet if the message will be sent as HTML<\/strong> or text<\/strong>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Scheduling<\/th>\nSet the Embargoed Until<\/strong> value, which will allow you to schedule when your message should be sent.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Criteria<\/th>\nIf you have attributes setup, you can set which users with a set attribute will receive your message.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Lists<\/th>\nSet which lists your message will be sent to.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Misc<\/th>\nSet the email addresses you\u2019d like to notify when the sending of your message starts, and when it has finished.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

    In this article we\u2019re just going to cover the basics of message sending, so just click on the Lists<\/strong> tab to select a list to send to.<\/p><\/li>\n

    Next click on process the message queue<\/strong> to actually send out the message we\u2019ve queued.<\/p><\/li>\n

    You should see that status of your list deliveries, in this case we only had 1 user on the list, so it sent very quickly. <\/p>\n

    phpList will also send a delivery report to the listreports@PrimaryDomain.com<\/strong> email account with the same information with timestamps and the IP address the message was sent from also included.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
