DokuWiki is an open source software designed to bring wiki based software with less server tasking capabilities. What this means is, DokuWiki has less processes required to run the software that allow the server to run faster and more efficient. The major benefit to DokuWiki is the fact that all the files that run DokuWiki are saved in PHP files, instead of storing the content in a Database.<\/p>\n

Manually installing DokuWiki<\/h3>\n

  1. To get started installing DokuWiki on your server, download the software from the DokuWiki site<\/strong> at the following URL. you will need to select the dokuwiki-2012-10-13.tgz \u201cAdora Belle\u201d<\/strong> link on the \u201cThis is the last \u201cstable\u201d version of DokuWiki<\/em>\u201d section.\n
  2. If you are not installing DokuWiki on the main domain or an Addon domain, Create a subdomain<\/a> for the DokuWiki site.<\/li>\n
  3. Upload the dokuwiki-2012-10-13.tgz<\/a> file through the cPanel and extract the file to the server<\/a>.<\/li>\n

    Next, visit the domain that DokuWiki was uploaded to in your browser. The url for the installation is: <\/p>\n

    Replacing example.com with the domain you set up for DokuWiki.

    On the DokuWiki installer <\/strong>page, fill in the Administrative login information.
    <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
    Admin login specifications<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
    Wiki Name:<\/strong><\/td>\nThis is the site name for your wiki.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Superuser:<\/strong><\/td>\nAdministrator username for login.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Real Name:<\/strong><\/td>\nThe name that will display on the website when writing articles.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    E-mail:<\/strong><\/td>\nThe email that will receive contact form submittals and other notifications.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Password:<\/strong><\/td>\nThis is the password for the DokuWiki admin login.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Initial ACL policy:<\/strong><\/td>\nThis can be open, closed, or public. Select Open Wiki.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    License type:<\/strong><\/td>\nLeave the default, CC Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

    Click Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Go to your server folder where DokuWiki was installed and delete the install.php file<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
