It is easy to create a new contact within the Contacts Component in Joomla 3.0. Here are the steps:<\/p>\n

Creating a new Contact<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Log into your Joomla 3.0 admin dashboard<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. In the top menu, click Components<\/strong>, hover over Contacts<\/strong>, and then click Contacts<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. In the top left of the page, click the New<\/strong> button
    <\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. There are many details you can fill out on this New Contact page. Fill out the necessary fields<\/strong>, and then click Save<\/strong> in the top left menu. In the table below you can see the data we used for our new contact:

    Name<\/th>\nEnter the name for your new contact<\/em><\/p>\n

    As we are creating teacher and student contacts in our testing, we entered Teacher A<\/strong> as the Name<\/em>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

    Linked User<\/th>\nIf this new contact is a registered user in your Joomla 3.0 website, click Select User<\/strong> and choose the appropriate Joomla username.<\/p>\n

    We linked Teacher A<\/strong> to the admin<\/em> username.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

    Category<\/th>\nChoose which Contacts Category this user belongs to.<\/em><\/p>\n

    Because we already created a new Contacts Category<\/a> of Teachers, we selected Teachers<\/strong> as the category<\/em>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

    Miscellaneous Information<\/th>\nFor Teacher A’s Miscellaneous Information, we entered the following:<\/p>\n
