Our first article for the Performance section in our Advanced Parameters<\/a> course deals with using Smarty. Smarty is a programming language that is used for the PrestaShop templates. Below are the different setting in this section and explanations of what they do.<\/p>\n

How to set up the Smarty settings for performance in PrestaShop 1.5<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Log into your PrestaShop 1.5 dashboard<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Using the top menu bar, hover over the Advanced Paramaters<\/strong> tab and click on the Performance<\/strong> option from the menu.<\/li>\n
  3. This brings you to the Performance<\/em> page. The first section for performance is entitled Smarty.

    <\/div>\n


    Template Cache<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
    Never compile cache<\/th>\nChanges show immediately after page reloading<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Compile cache if templates are updates<\/th>\n(Default)<\/em> The cahnges made to the theme files will display once changed.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Force compile<\/th>\nCompiles and caches the pages when changes to the theme are completed<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

    Cache<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n
    Cache<\/th>\nEnables or disables caching. This is an option that should always be enabled except in the case of debugging.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

    Debug Console<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
    Do not open console<\/th>\n(Default)<\/em> if this is active, the console will never display.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Open console with URL parameter (SMARTY_DEBUG)<\/th>\nAllows the console to display if you arr the string \u201c?SMARTY_DEBUG\u201d to the end of a URL.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
