Kicking off our course on managing affiliates and referrers<\/a>, we begin by showing you how to add a new referrer to your store. A referrer is another website that sends you visitors. This referring website does so by featuring a link on their site somewhere. Having a lot of affiliates can generate a lot of traffic and, ultimately, a lot of sales and profit. Below are the steps for accessing and creating a new referrer for your PrestaShop 1.5 store.<\/p>\n

Creating a new referrer in PrestaShop 1.5<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Log into your PrestaShop 1.5 admin dashboard<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Using the top menu bar, hover over the Stats<\/strong> tab and click on the Referrers<\/strong> option.<\/li>\n
  3. You are now on the Referrers<\/em> page. Click on the green Add New<\/strong> button in the upper right hand corner to begin adding your new referrer.<\/li>\n
  4. From here, you will see several fields to fill out for your new referrer.

    Click Fee<\/td>\nAmount of payment based on clickthroughs<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Base Fee<\/td>\nAmount of base payment as flat fee<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Percent Fee<\/td>\nAmount of payment as percentage of order amount<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Technical Information Section<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
    HTTP Referrer Include<\/td>\nWebsite the visitor will be coming from (domain.com)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    HTTP Referrer Exclude<\/td>\nsitename, or portion thereof, to ignore as a referrer<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Request URI Include<\/td>\nSpecial query string (example: ?referrerID= )<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Request URI Exclude<\/td>\nString that, if included, will ignore as a referrer<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

  5. Once you have entered all the information for your new referrer, simply click on the green Save<\/strong> button to finalize their creation. You will be brought back to the Referrers<\/em> list page. Your new affiliate referrer should now appear in the list at the bottom of the page.\n
