You will not be able to access  selected areas under non-ssl. Note, you must have SSL enabled on your  server to utilise this option.<\/em><\/td>\n<td>\n<ul>\n<li>None<\/li>\n<li>Administrator Only<\/li>\n<li>Entire Site<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As the options imply, you can force SSL for either your entire website, or only for your \/administrator pages.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h2>To set the Force SSL option in Joomla 3.0<\/h2>\n<ol class=\"article_list\">\n<li><a href=\"\/support\/edu\/joomla\/joomla-3\/how-to-log-in-to-administrative-dashboard\/\">Log into your Joomla 3.0 Admin Dashboard<\/a><\/li>\n<li>In the left menu, click the <strong>Global Configuration<\/strong> link<\/li>\n<li>There will be several tabs at the top of the page. Click the <strong>Server<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n<li>Under the <em>Server Settings<\/em> heading, find the option labeled <strong>Force SSL<\/strong>. Use the drop down menu to the right of the setting to select the option you want, and then click the <strong>Save<\/strong> button in the top left of the page.\n<p class=\"alert\"><strong>Please note!<\/strong><br \/>\nIf you don&#8217;t have SSL enabled for your domain name, you will immediately get an error upon saving. To fix this issue, continue reading.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>What to do if you&#8217;re locked out of Joomla 3.0 because of this SSL Setting?<\/h2>\n<p>If you enabled the Force SSL option, and you&#8217;ve become locked out of your website, follow these steps to restore the normal, non-ssl setting.<\/p>\n<ol class=\"article_list\">\n<li>Open for edit the Joomla 3.0 configuration.php file<\/li>\n<li>Find a line that looks similar to this:\n<pre class=\"code_block\">public $force_ssl = '2';<\/pre>\n<p>Change this setting so that it has a value of 0, as in:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"code_block\">public $force_ssl = '0';<\/pre>\n<p>Save the changes to the file.
