For example, when a user attempts to log into your site and fails, a line similar to the following will be written to a log file named error.php<\/p>\n<pre class=\"code_block\">#Fields: datetime       priority        category        message\n2012-08-16T03:35:45+00:00       INFO    joomlafailure   Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet.<\/pre>\n<p>Joomla 3.0 allows you to change the path to where these log files are stored on your server. This setting is referred to as <em>Path to Log Folder<\/em>, and Joomla gives the following description for this setting:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Path to Log Folder:<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>For loggin of Joomla. Please specify a folder.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>By default, the value for <em>Path to Log Folder<\/em> is set to <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\/logs<\/span>. If you installed Joomla 3.0 to <span style=\"color: #008000;\">\/home\/username\/public_html\/joomla<\/span>, then the log folder will be set to:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">\/home\/username\/public_html\/joomla<\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\/logs<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In this tutorial, we&#8217;ll show you how to change the folder to which log files are stored in Joomla 3.0.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To change your log folder in Joomla 3.0:<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol class=\"article_list\">\n<li><a href=\"\/support\/edu\/joomla\/joomla-3\/how-to-log-in-to-administrative-dashboard\/\">Log into your Joomla 3.0 admin control panel<\/a><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the left menu, click the link labeled <strong>Global Configuration<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Within the tabs listed on the top of the page, click the tab labeled <strong>System<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Under the <em>System Settings<\/em> header, find the setting labeled <strong>Path to Log Folder<\/strong>. Adjust the value as needed, and then click the <strong>Save<\/strong> button in the top left of the page.<\/span><\/span><\/span>In our testing, we changed the directory from \/logs to \/logs123.
