It\u2019s recommended instead to wait for the next long-term-support release version, which will be Joomla 3.5.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/edu_joomla25_upgrade-to-joomla2.5.2_click-update-now.gif\" rel=\"lightbox-0\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"537\" height=\"479\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/edu_joomla25_upgrade-to-joomla2.5.2_click-update-now.gif\" class=\"optimized-lcp-image\" alt=\"click-update-now\" loading=\"eager\" fetchpriority=\"high\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\"><\/a><\/p>\n<div style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<p>If you\u2019re familiar with the <a href=\"\/support\/edu\/joomla\/joomla-2-5\/upgrade-joomla\/\">update tool<\/a> in Joomla 2.5, you should not expect to see the 3.0 update listed.<\/p>\n<p>If you do upgrade to Joomla 3.0, you\u2019ll want to make sure you upgrade to Joomla 3.1 and Joomla 3.5 when those releases are public.<\/p>\n<p>Be aware that not everyone will be able to upgrade from Joomla 2.5 to 3.0. For example, if you use a component on your site that has not yet been upgraded to Joomla 3.0, then an upgrade may not be a viable option.<\/p>\n<p>If you can\u2019t upgrade from Joomla 2.5 to Joomla 3.0, don\u2019t worry just yet.
