One of the first things you see when you visit your new Magento 1.6 shopping cart is the default welcome message in the upper right corner of the page, which reads:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a simple customization and a good place to start on customizing Magento 1.6. In the last tutorial, we covered how to log into the Magento Backend<\/a> and that\u2019s where we\u2019ll change the default welcome message. To change the default message displayed on your Magento 1.6 web pages, you\u2019ll need to log into the Magento admin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to Change Magento\u2019s Default Welcome Message<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Log into the Magento Admin Panel<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Go to System > Configuration<\/strong>.

  3. In the Left side menu pane choose \u201cDesign<\/strong>\u201d under the \u201cGeneral<\/strong>\u201d heading.
