As we continue to learn about Joomla 2.5 extensions, we will now walk you through the steps needed for installing a Joomla 2.5 module. The module we will install, AiDaNews2, will show a listing of our latest articles in Joomla 2.5.<\/p>\n

To install a Joomla 2.5 Module:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Installing a module is much like installating a plugin<\/a>, the steps will seem very similar.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Download the module to your desktop<\/li>\n
  2. Log into your Joomla 2.5 Dashboard<\/a><\/li>\n
  3. In the top menu, hover over Extensions<\/strong> and then click Extension Manager<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Under Upload Package File<\/strong>, click browse<\/strong> and select the module you downloaded in step 1, then click Upload & Install<\/strong>
    \n    \"upload-your-joomla2.5-module\"<\/a>\n
  5. At this point we have installed a Joomla 2.5 module, however by default new modules are not enabled, so we\u2019ll now enable the module.In the top menu, hover over Extensions<\/strong> and click Module Manager<\/strong><\/li>\n
  6. Use the Filter<\/strong> feature to find your module, and then click on the module in the list below
    \n    \"find-and-select-your-module\"<\/a>\n
    <\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  7. Under Details<\/strong>, select the Position<\/strong> where you want the module displayed<\/a> and set the Status<\/strong> to Published<\/strong><\/li>\n
  8. Under Menu Assignment<\/strong>, select which pages to show the module on. You can do this by either setting Module assignment<\/strong> to On all Pages<\/strong>, or by individually clicking on each page in the list below

  9. Under Basic Options<\/strong>, configure any settings specific for this module<\/li>\n
  10. Click Save & Close <\/strong>Congratulations, you have just installed a Joomla 2.5 module!\n
