Preventing comment spam with the PlusCaptcha plugin for WordPress

Unprotected comment fields can be largely targeted for spam if left defenseless. One solution to ensure that the form is submitted by a real person is to use a captcha. In this article, we will show you how to install and configure the PlusCaptcha plugin on your WordPress site in which your users can complete a quick puzzle to submit the form.

Installing PlusCaptcha

  1. Begin by logging into your WordPress admin dashboard.

  2. Next, hover over Plugins on the left side menu bar and click on Add New.

  3. In the search box at the top right of the page, enter PlusCaptcha and press the Enter key on the keyboard.

  4. Your search results will then be displayed. As you have searched for the exact name of the plugin, PlusCaptcha should be the first result. Click Install Now to begin the installation.
