ICANN domain transfer policies have changed as of 1 December 2016. Updates to whois information are considered a change of ownership and may warrant a 60-day transfer lock.

In the InMotion Store you have the ability to modify the WHOIS information that is listed for your domain. In this tutorial we will show you how to accomplish this. Be aware that domain transfer policy (per ICANN) has changed. Updates to contact information are considered a change of ownership and may put a 60-day transfer lock on the domain. Updating WHOIS:

  1. Login to the InMotion Store
  2. Under Domains click Manage:
    administer your domains in inmotion store
  3. Beside WHOIS Contact Information click the Edit link:
    modify whois record via the inmotion store
  4. On the next screen, you can choose to "Use my Account Settings," or "Use a custom contact," to enter different information. Click Save Changes when you are done.
