Automate weekly backups of VPS

Hello guys,
I am new in this VPS thing. I have at the moment 4 databases and 4 domains in my VPS.
How could I get backups made automatically for example every 3 days so in case something goes wrong I can restore and not loose too much.
It happened before when I was using Godaddy, my website one day crashed and I asked for some help and they said that they weren't doing the backups and it was my responsibility.
So do you have some instructions in how to create this backup system via WHM of the whole thing?
What would you suggest in my case?
Thanks

Hello noivacom, Thank you for your question about automating backups in a VPS. If you have root access, you can configure local backups in WHM at any time. If you do not have root access, you can submit a verified ticket request to enable backups. Just be specific about the intervals, and what you want backed up. Keep in mind backups take up space on your server, based on the size of your accounts. If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below. Thank you, John-Paul
