Cannot log in WP

IH emailed me that my site was hacked. They quarantined several files. I deleted the old directories I wasn't using and loaded a fresh copy of Wordpress and the theme I use. I was also instructed to change the passwords for the site and cpanel. I did change the passwords in WHM and did make the changes in the WP-config file. I did initially get a token sync issue when trying to log in to MyPHp but that has sorted itself out.

The issue now is that the site loads and I can see it just fine but when I try to login in using wp-admin at the end of my URL, I get a WP page saying "cannot establish a database connection" . When I try to simply login by clicking "log in" in the meta section of the site, I get "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in ...".

It seems that the site is working but any attempt at authenticating a login or user is no establishing a connection to the DB. Has anyone had this issue before?

Hello, I'm sorry to hear about the problems you were having with your WordPress Admin login. When I checked it, I noticed that you had recently spoken our live technical support team. They have created a ticket to look at your site. However, I would make sure that you cleared your browser cache and then try to reload the page. It was working for me, so I was not able to duplicate the error that you're seeing. If the problem does continue, please make sure to reply to the support ticket that has been opened for your account. If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.
