spam bot repeatedly contacts my website

I have a particular website IP address (buttons-for-website.com) that's hit my website's home page every day for the last several weeks, sometimes multiple times per day. I think its some kind of bot, but I'm not sure. I've tried a Wordpress plug-in to block domains but, as I've come to find out doing online research, these types of hits just bypass any blocking attempt due to multiple IP addresses used, etc. Is there something that can be done about putting an effective block on my domain to block this (and any other) annoying website bot?

Hello, Sorry to hear that you're having problems with a bot hitting your website. If you are sure that a particular website IP address is hitting your website home page, then you should be able to create a .htaccess rule that can block either a specific IP address or a range of IP addresses that are attacking you. Everything that accesses your website uses an IP address, so it's kind of impossible to block EVERYTHING, but you should be able to determine a range of IP addresses that will help stop what's hitting your site. If you click on the link I provided above, you will see that there other ways to block people in the .htaccess people as well. Try these solutions and let us know if you still require assistance after attempting to use them to help stop the bot from hitting your website. Kindest regards, Arnel C.
