Is anyone running XenForo on an InMotion shared server?

I'm having trouble installing XenForo on my InMotion shared account ("Power" Plan).  I keep getting a fatal error in one of the php files during installation.  I've tried changing to different PHP versions (both up and down) in cPanel and that doesn't solve it.  InMotion tech help has been trying to assist me but they finally gave up and told me that XenForo is simply not compatible with NGINX.  I find this confusing because over on the XenForo forums lots of folks say they are running XenForo on NGINX servers.  He further suggested I would have to either upgrade to VPS or choose one of the free forums available in Softaculous LOL.  Did the tech just give up too early and try to shoo me away?

My quetion to this forum is, is anyone else running a XenForo forum here on InMotion?  On one of the shared server accounts?  With NGINX?  Or if anyone has any advice for things I can try to resolve this issue and complete the installation, please let me know.

Thanks!

Hosting for xenforo forum
Hi
I'm running wordpress and plan to have a section for respository for member to post graphic design artwork using using image press and also to install xenforo forum for discussion.
Question:

1) what hosting should I get? currently I'm just starting out, I dont have an idea about the traffic yet.
2) is it compatible for xenforo forum?
3) If need to upgrade to different package hosting, will I get charge?

thanks in advance

Alyssa thanks for your response.  I've been engaging with InMotion customer service in chats.  The tl/dr is that you simply can't install XenForo on InMotion, so I've moved on.  Thanks.

Hello, Thank you for your questions today. 1) You can start out at any level you like. A well-run WordPress site should do fine on a business plan. Adding Xenforo should not change this requirement, especially when the site is new. 2) Xenforo is written in php and uses MySQL databases so it is compatible with all of our servers. 3) You can upgrade to a VPS or Dedicated plan as needed at any time. Of course the new plan will cost more, but you will not lose any money previously paid as any unused portion will go towards your upgrade. I hope this helps! Kindest Regards, Scott M

Is this still true today? (this thread is 7 years old).  I've been having trouble installing XenForo on my Power Plan (shared server) account.  Any help is appreciated.
