PHP Mail Contact Form

Hello, I installed Contact Form 7 plug-in on my wordpress site and am unable to send or receive mail. I get an error message with a red box, which is said to be a host issue?

I've tried a few troubleshooting things - deactivating and activating the plug-in, testing it on other themes, trying to get my wordpress log-in page to generate an e-mail for a forgotten password and keep getting error messages that mail cannot be sent.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

The e-mail could not be sent.
Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function.

Hello, and thanks for your question. I'm not sure why the plugin wouldn't work for you, it seems to work on most of our shared servers by default without changing any settings. You might possibly have another plugin that is conflicting with it. Have you ever been able to have the form work and you're just now having issues with it? You also will typically have better luck when you use a plugin like WP Mail SMTP so that you can directly provide CMS SMTP settings instead of relying on the normal PHP mail() function. Please let us know if you have any further questions. - Jacob
