How Do I Troubleshoot Backups Failing Possibly Due to DNSADMIN Crashing?

DnsAdmin crashing seems to be the root of backups failing. The server is clustered for DNS. Editing a zone record fails in whm/cpanel with the message: "The system failed to read up to 16 KB from a file handle because of an error: Connection reset by peer at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/DnsUtils/AskDnsAdmin.pm line 134."

I've tried updating, restarting the service, rebooting the server, and double checking the cluster status.
