Addon domain hosting

I've registered & created an addon domain, however placing files in the directory created for the domain makes them available at maindomain.com/newdomain, as opposed to newdomain.com as they should be. Am I doing something wrong or do I just need to wait for the registration+nameserver change to take effect?

Hello Bjornlinder, Thanks for the question! This is a normal behavior. People won't know those files are there unless you publish a link. When you create an add-on domain, the file structure is such that the add-on domain is a subdomain of the primary domain. So, as per your question, files can be accessed like this: http://primarydomain.com/add-ondomain.com/files However, no one knows that the files are there unless they have seen your directory structure. Or you have a published a link using that path. If you are seeing that path when you try access the files in that location at this time, then it's possible that your new domain is still undergoing propagation. DNS propagation may typically require up to 24 hours before the domain name is recognized on the internet. Please allow for this time to expire and then you should see the domain files being accessed appropriately. If you have any further questions or if you need any more assistance, please let us know. Kindest regards, Arnel C.
