I tried chat and was told to add SetEnv TZ America/Washington to my .htaccess file. This resulted in an Error 500 for the site.

Hello JWP,

Thank you for your question, I am happy to help you set the timezone for your site. If your site uses PHP 5.3 or newer you will need to specify the timezone in your php.ini file. I recommend reviewing the following guide that outlines how to do that:

https://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/website/setting-the-timezone-for-php-in-the-phpini-file/

As most modern sites use PHP 5.3 or above, this will likely provide the solution for this issue. To fix the 500 error, simply remove the code added to your .htaccess file and the site should function properly.

Please let us know if you have any further questions, we are happy to help.

Best Regards,
Alyssa K
