Category Page Banners

Please take a look at one of my category pages. I started adding an image to the banners of my category pages yesterday and noticed a problem.

Take a look at "Bed Parts" category. Note how large the banner is. The width is fine but the height is way too much. I got the same results when I tried to add banner images to the other categories.

I looked at the category section of the style sheet but I can't see where the actual size of the banner is.

Please take a look and let me know what changes I need to make and the line to make them on.

Hello SimonBK,

The actual banner size is set in the MODULES - BANNERS section. You can set them there. I spoke with our design team who often work in OpenCart. They suggested that whatever size is set for the banners (I think it's currently 800x355 pixels), then you should adjust your images to that size so that the program isn't changing the images to that size. I also searched the CSS for the setting, but it's not in there that I could see. So, most likely it's definitely controlled by the BANNER module. Hope that helps! Let us know if you're still having problems with it!

If you have any further questions, please contact technical support or leave a comment at the bottom of the page.

Thank you for your question simonbk!

When creating the banner, you want to size it to the size you want it to appear. Looking at your banner, you will want to edit the banner in Photoshop or another image editor and Crop the image so the height is smaller. Then re-upload the banner and it will look the way you want. You can't fix this using CSS.
