Upgrading to Joomla 2.5

I tried to move my tested 2.5 site to my root, but learned that I had not yet created a new database for that site... The j25_tables are in with my jos_tables (1.5)

The joomla install should have created a new database.... But I'm not certain that is necessary.

We moved the contents of that folder over and it is giving me a error.... if you see the account notes this will be visible.

Please advise on how to move the upgrade/jupgrade files to the root without the error:

Error said: Fatal error: Call to a member function login() on a non-object in /home/throwd5...

Upon further investigation I'm not entirely sure that we have to migrate into a new database. J upgrader is a component which I used to create the new 2.5 site. It works perfectly well if you go to www.throwdownseries.com/update/jupdate

Now I just need it to work on the root.

Hello Cberry, I did read the notes on your account and also verbally discussed the issue with the techs who you spoke with. What was not clear was if you went through the step-by-step migration process that Joomla gives in their documentation. Here's the link to it: Migrating from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 2.5 They also detail a manual procedure. I would review the database migration closely, as there major changes between 1.5 and 2.5. They also mentioned using other tools (such the upgrader you appear to have used). Please review the process and then see if there may have been something you might have missed. If you continue to have problems with it, please give us more detail and we can trouble shoot the issue further. If you have any further questions, please contact technical support or leave a comment at the bottom of the page. Regards, Arnel C.
