How do I remove ".html" from the URLs

I'm trying to remove the ".html" from the URLs from my domain of steelcityvets.com. For example, we have a "Contact Us" page which is at www.steelcityvets.com/contact.html, I would like this URL to just show as www.steelcityvets.com/contact. I tried to put in a Perminant 301 redirect via the Control Panel here on InMotion but when I did that, I got a 404 error. I was able to get a schedule redirect from the index page with was www.steelcityvets.com/home.html but now redirects to www.steelcityvets.com but that is it.

I'm using Dreamweaver CS5 with a CSS file to maintain this site.

Hello Benkeen,

The behavior you are wanting is generally done via the htaccess file with custom redirect code. I am currently seeing that behavior on your site, so it appears that you were successful in getting the .html to be removed from the URL.

If you have any more questions or information specific to the issue please leave a comment below so we can further assist you.
