Sandvox: unable to download test file

Hello,

I just build a basic website using Sandvox. I then purchased a domain name and hosting services from In Motion. I'm now entering the information from the "technical details" of the In Motion page into Sandvox. Sandvox successfully establishes an FTP connection, it creates directories, it attempts to upload a test file and completes that. The error that comes up is "unable to download file from URL (then it lists our domain name with an extension: www.kimoandsarahbuildahouseboat.com/Temp_815855F9FC8141ABA678.html and says the error is that it can't find the host. It says I may have my host's URL format misconfigured but I can't see how this would be. For the URL format I put http://www.kimoandsarahbuildahouseboat.com/

It says I need to fix this error before I can publish my website. I look forward to hearing from you to get this straightened out!

Thanks,
Sarah

Hello Sarah,

Without seeing the settings you have in Sandvox I can only make an educated guess. In FTP settings, I would try using www.kimoandsarahbuildahouseboat.com without the http:// in front as http and ftp are different protocols. You may also try ftp.kimoandsarahbuildahouseboat.com or even simply kimoandsarahbuildahouseboat.com

If you are still having issues, I am happy to check all of your settings. You can send that specific information to [email protected] Be sure to validate your account with either the last 4 digits of the credit card on file, or the current Account Management Panel (AMP) password. As we do not actively monitor that address, be sure to leave a comment below so we know the information was sent.

I hope this answers your question. If you have any more questions or information specific to the issue please leave a comment below so we can further assist you.
