Hi buffbones,

Thanks for posting your question. I'm more than happy to help you. Are you still having issues trying to install software using Fantastico? The error is saying you have already installed software in the root (public_html) and you cannot have more than one instance of software in a directory.

Typically, we see this error when a customer installs software using fantastico and does not remove it using the Fantastico interface. Normally, we can go into the .fantasticodata folder and edit a "installed_in_root" file, however, upon checking your account I found no such file.

If you need further assistance please feel free to contact us. If the error persists, please email you cPanel password to [email protected] and notify me by posting a comment here. Please do not post your cPanel password in this forum as it is publicly viewable.

Thanks!

Tim S

Fantastico, a feature in cPanel that helps you easily install programs to your account, is no longer available. As of September 17th, 2012, Fantastico has been replaced by Softaculous.

This article is being kept in our Support Center for our VPS and Dedicated Customers who may still be using Fantastico. For all other users, please see our Softaculous software installation guide for more help with installing programs such as WordPress and Joomla.
