How do I stop Chrome Malware Detection? (Appears to be a phishing attempt)

Hello,

When I uploaded my sites to my domain (www.sci07.com) via ftp and tested it, I found that some of my pages are getting re-directed to seemingly malicious sites.

I think this is a problem on your end as I can't reproduce it locally and web analyzer is showing a redirect on your end. Could you please investigate?

The steps to reproduce are:
Using Chrome Version 17.0.963.83 m
1) go to www.sci07.com
2) click the newsletters link
3) click the Sci07 Crest (top left)

You will get the Chrome "Malware Detected!" page warning me that I'm being redirected to pills.ind.in.

pills.ind.in is nowhere in any of my local code so I'm 99% sure this is an inmotion or DNS issue.

Please advise.

Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave, Thanks for posting your question. I'm sorry you're experiencing the issues you've described. I'm more than happy to assist you. I've looked at your account and it appears you are experiencing a .htaccess file hack. It appears your FTP or cPanel passwords may have been compromised and a hacker has injected their own .htaccess file that causes the re-directs. I've renamed the .htaccess file in your public_html folder so the problem should cease to exist (that is, the redirects). You'll need to review this link to make sure you change your passwords and check to be sure all software is up to date. I think I've been hacked You'll also need to submit your website to be reviewed by Google so they remove the safe browsing warning as well. Here's a link explaining how to do that: Re-submitting my site to Google If you need further assistance please feel free to contact us. Thanks! Tim S
