Will phpBB and WordPress drive up my server load?

I'm currently running the cheapest dedicated account and have 2 Wordpress blogs running on it. One gets between 10-15k pageviews/day, the other more like 1500. Both run caching and we're not really experiencing any performance issues.

We're looking to start a forum, and I've got phpbb set up on a subdomain within the account.

I'm wondering how big of a load this will create on the server.

Obviously it depends on traffic, which will probably be slow at first...but at what point are we going to get overloaded?

1k pageviews on the forum?
5k?
10k?

Hi Mad_Science,

Thanks for posting your question. I'm more than happy to assist you. Your question is really hard to answer since there's so many factors that come into play with load. I've looked around the phpBB forums to see if there's anything specific however there isn't. Most questions about server load and phpBB comes from the customers on shared hosting.

I'd recommend actually getting the bulletin board up and running and keeping track of the server load in WHM.

If you need further assistance please feel free to contact us.

Thanks!
