Links in Temp URL do not work when testing..

Hello,

I'm in the process of transferring my Wordpress site hosting from GoDaddy to InMotion.

My temp URL is:
http://ecbiz115.inmotionhosting.com/~bharar5/

Although the theme loads, I don't understand why any of the (relative) links do not work? I get a message like this when I click on any of the links:

"The requested URL /~bharar5/about-2 was not found on this server."

All data has been copied over from GoDaddy. My DB is fine and I've tested it successfully using SQL queries - I can see all posts and comments.

My theme is located in:
public_html/wp-content/themes/ThemeName

My wp-config is in public_html

Thanks in advance!

Hi bharari, Thanks for posting your question. I'm more than happy to assist you. The issue is likely due to you not having set the site url to the temp url as well as resetting your permalinks after the migration. Anytime you move a WordPress website to a new domain (i.e. your temp URL) you have to update the site URL, so the site will function normally. Also, I've found when moving a WordPress website you have to disable the permalinks and re-enable them in the WordPress dashboard. Here's a link on using the Temp URL with WordPress: Installing WordPress using the Temp URL If you need further assistance please feel free to contact us. Thanks! Tim S
