Remote website email issue

My website hosting service (Shift4shop) stopped providing email service for my domain.  I have moved it to Inmotionhosting.  But .... when I try to send emails from my Shift4shop website (e.g. order acknowledgements) nothing is sent (e.g. an order from my gmail account).   But if I do a test order with an account using my domain, the email is successfully received.

Any idea why Shift4shop would only allow emails to my domain?

Hi John, I think you're on the right track with testing.

What is your mail routing in cPanel currently set to, and What did the cPanel email logs say with the test email?

Also, if your site is hosted on Shift4shop, but your email is originating from an InMotion Hosting server, be sure that your SPF, DKIM, and DMARC are set up appropriately.

Also, while I can provide support based on what you tell me about your account, you may want to reach out directly to our live support team as they can assist you in directly checking the logs. Just provide as much detail as you can regarding your site setup. We can't directly support Shift4shop itself, but we can help provide information on how the email is currently sending and what you may need to fix.

I just did another test with an account with an email hosted by Inmotionhosting (4rbs.com).  The order I placed successfully sent the email to [email protected].

So the issue seems to be 'forwarding' to non-Inmotionhosting email servers.

Could the problem be that I am using Cloudflare for my DNS (because I use them for my SSL)?

And... inmotionhosting accepts email from Shift4shop going to any account in my domain (selectlocks.com) but is blocking email to any other email address.

My website is hosShift4shop.  It is not a Wordpress site.  I got this back from Sift4shop this morning.

"Hi John,

I spoke with the Server Admins today to gave them take another look and they ran a test where they were able to track an individual email successfully making it to your server. Since we don't host your mail we can't see what is happening once it gets to that side, so they recommended following up with your current mail host to see what is happening with the emails once they hit their side. For this specific test they used the [email protected] email."

Something is happening on the Inmotionhosting side.  I have no visibility into where and how emails are originated on Shift4shop

Hi John, sorry you're having some issues after moving your site. It sounds like you are hosting your site here, but are using Gmail as your email host? If that's the case, please try setting email routing in cPanel to remote and see if that helps.

Is your site a WordPress site? If so, I'd also suggest going in and double-checking your forms, or whatever other site software/plugin you are using to send emails.

If the above don't apply to your current situation, please describe your site setup in a bit more detail (specifically how mail is sent and from where) and we'll try to point you in the right direction. Hope that helps!
