How to set up a SubDIRECTORY - not subdomain.

I would like my blog to be separate from my main domain and in a subdirectory - not a subdomain. I've done my research and the subdirectory seems to be the recommended option. Meaning website.com/blog/ instead of blog.website.com

I can't figure out how to set this up or find answers anywhere in support. I'm assuming you go into CPanel and add a new folder, then add Wordpress there? But I'm not sure how this would work.

Also, my main concern is helping my root domain run faster as my blog is getting large. Would hosting the blog on a subdirectory help achieve this goal?

Hello and thanks for asking. You can do so by simply creating a new subfolder within your WordPress directory. If you install a blog using Softaculous, you can simply type in a subdirectory. If you're just looking to improve website performance, there are other ways to do so without adding more code to your website - gzip, Cloudflare, etc.
