I am trying to clean up another persons work and want to delete a domain. I know this cannot be reversed, but can it be added back later?

Actually, another person set all of this account prior to me and currently one domain is not used or need at this time. I am trying to simplify the setup of another domain. I have been unable to configure subdomains or addon and just wanted to start fresh with the domain I am trying to administrate.

Hello! When you say that you wish to delete the domain, are you also referring to the files and database? If so, in addition to deleting the addon domain, you can use the cPanel file manager to remove the site files as well. Just be sure to make a backup first, if you ever intend to use that site data again! The same applies to backing up and deleting the site's database.

If the site is the account's primary domain (i.e. the site located in the public_html folder), you will also need to change the primary domain name to something else if you no longer want to use the same URL. Hope that helps!

Hello, thank you for your question on deleting a domain name. I'm more than happy to help. To clarify, are you just wanting to remove the domain name as an add-on domain from cPanel? If that is the case, you may remove the domain name as an add-on and add it back in the future without losing your site files.

Best,
