How to password protect a web page?

How can I password protect a web page on my web site. I am using WordPress, but I am getting ready to launch another web site and can use that. Is there a CMS that works better with password protected pages?

There are hundreds (if not thousands) of CMS applications that you can turn to, but trying to determine if one is better with password protected pages over another isn't something that is easy to determine. My recommendation is to stick with something like WordPress where security is a prominent concern and is consistently being updated. Since WordPress is widely used, there are a number of plugins that are constantly kept current that can meet your needs. If you find that this isn't satisfactory, then I recommend that you speak with an experienced developer that specializes in security for websites.
