I use cPanel and upgrade is required, but my moodle site has number of customized plugins. What is the right way to keep them and have them back after the upgrade?

Hello, Thank you for your question regarding plugins when upgrading Moodle via Softaculous. The Softaculous upgrade should only affect Moodle specific files and not the plugins. But, I absolutely recommend backing up your site before proceeding so it can be restored in case of issues. Also, ensure your plugins are compatible with the latest version of Moodle. This is typically listed on plugins download pages. Unfortunately, customized plugins may require a developer's review. Thank you, John-Paul
