I need to create a staging site. However, when I log into softaculous, there are no current installations listed. How can a staging site be created?  Please note that I am not trying to install a website. I am trying to create a staging site from an existing website, a website that was just transferred to inmotion.

Hello and thanks for contacting us. This is where you see currently installed installations. You can install a website by clicking it on the left side within its respective category.

This certainly does not sound like what is described here - create a staging site

Have you checked to see if your site has been imported into Softaculous? If the site was installed manually, it will initially be invisible to Softaculous unless made otherwise.

Thanks for submitting a question about creating staging sites. There are many different ways to do it. It depends on your preference. In any case, you will need to create a fresh WordPres installation, copy the files from the site you are hoping to stage, and import the database. If you have any trouble, you may want to contact live support.

Hello.

Thank you for posting your question regarding upgrading Softaculous to utilize the WordPress staging feature. The staging feature was introduced in Softaculous version 4.2.8. Although it is not available for all the installable software in Softaculous, WordPress staging is available in the version you are using.

Since this software upgrade requires root access, you can only upgrade Softaculous if you are subscribed to a VPS or Dedicated server hosting plan.

I hope this helps!

Sincerely,

Carlos D.
