Outlook 2016 can't receive emails
We recently tried to roll out Office 2016 Home & Business including
Outlook 2016 talking to a POP3 mail server. Only to find Outlook 2016 can
send but not receive emails. I’ve tried talking with Microsoft tech
support only to go around and around in circles with no answer. Outlook 2011 works fine.
Tried the usual things delete Outlook profiles, delete/create accounts,
even reformatted one computer OSX 10.11.6 still no joy.
Error message is “Outlook has encountered an unexpected error” “Can not
retrieve mail” “Error code: -1”
The mail server does not see/receive any attempts to connect to retrieve
emails, though it can receive and send emails.
