Drupal 7 - development versus live site

My domain is www.mydomain.com, I installed and am developing at www.mydomain.com/beta. When my site is ready to go live, how do I do that? Do I copy all of my files up one level? Or can I somehow have mydomain.com point to www.mydomain.com/beta? I prefer for users not to see the /beta in the URL address.

thanks! Amy

Hello Amy, Thank you for contacting us about going live with Drupal site. There are many different ways to do that. In theory, after you are done with your development phase you can move the files, update the database, and edit the settings.php file. However, for a guided walk-through I recommend our Drupal Test Site guide, which goes into more detail. Best, Christopher M.
