Using Wordpress MU for subdomains

Hi, I have an existing site winaction.org, and would like to add a few subdomains with different brands and looks. And I'd like to use WordPress for the new subdomains, all of these are under the same administration.

Should I setup the Wordpress on the top level (which is a non-wordpress site) and setup a Wordpress Network using MU? Or will that not work since the top level domain is not wordpress? Or should I install separate wordpress instances for each subdomain?

winaction.org (not a wordpress site, may change to word press in future)
- sub1.winaction.org (wordpress)
- sub2.winaction.org (wordpress)
- sub3.winaction.org (wordpress)

thanks!

Hello,

Thanks for the question about WordPress MultiSite. If your sites are going to be lightweight and not involve a lot of graphics or traffic, then multisite may be a solution. I would not recommend it if you're using a lot of extensions either. The most stable installation (in my opinion) would be to use multiple individual installations. They're more secure, and also can be scaled more easily with plugins than with multisite.

I hope that helps to answer your question! If you require further assistance, please let us know!
