Protected directory error with users on Windows 10

I protected a directory on a site using the using "Password Protect Directoires" function in the Control Panel. For most people it works as it should. However, anyone with Windows 10 (using whatever browser Win10 ships with) is receiving an authentication error and is unable to log in. If they use another browser, it works fine. Any ideas what could be causing this just in one browser and, more importantly, what I can do to fix it? Thanks.

Hello Abbey, I looked into the problem and it seems that it is not only with Windows 10 as it seems to have happened on other versions of internet explorer too. Here is a Microsoft thread if you would like to read more up about it. However if the steps provided in that thread does not work then the people will visiting your password protected directory will need to use Firefox/Chrome/Safari instead of IE10 as it is not a problem on our end but the client software itself.
