Installing Prestashop via Inmotion or Joomla

I am trying to install PrestaShop via Inmotion, however I receive this error message
The following errors were found :

Installation cannot proceed because the following files already exist in the target folder :
README.md
cache
index.php
modules
Please delete these files or choose another folder.OR
Select the checkbox to overwrite all files and continue

I'm not sure I should overwrite the files because I am also using a Joomla template. Now, I am also finding Prestashop via Joomla as an extension - http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/e-commerce/e-commerce-integrations/21948

What am I suppose to do? I left the dir blank to install Prestashop as well via Inmotion. A bit confusing. Thanks

Hello,

The error message you are getting is there to prevent you from inadvertently overwriting other files. The ones in the list have common names and so it gives you a warning if they are found there. Now, if you do not want Joomla or whatever is in that folder, then you can delete the files and then install PrestaShop.

If you want to keep working with Joomla and still want to use a full version or PrestaShop, you will want to install it into a subfolder and not the same folder as Joomla. When people do this, they usually install it into a folder or subdirectory name 'store' or 'shop' but it can be whatever you decide.

We currently have no experience with the Joomla PrestaShop extension so I cannot yet comment on that except to say that it is not the same thing as a full PrestaShop installation, so uf you want a full ecommerce solution to work alongside your Joomla, then go with the full PrestaShop installed into a subfolder.

Kindest Regards,
