I am unable to log into Wordpress to get to my dashboard. I have tried disabling all plugins (renamed the plugin folder to do so), but that didn't work. A tech ran a permissions fix for me, but no luck still. Help?

Prospect Insider website recently changed to WordPress for the comments section. I am unable to log in there with my old username (xxxxx) and password (xxxxxxx). Why can't I log into my wordpress admin dashboard for the first time?
I recently added another domain to my account, (www.thisishowtobetall.com) and I registered it at InMotion Hosting, so it's already pointing to the right nameservers I believe. I used Fantastico to install wordpress onto the website but every time I try to use the admin URL I get an error message. Help!

can't log into wordpress
Hello! I have been trying to login to my wordpress site and it hasn't let me for a while now. I have tried changing captcha settings, making up a new username and password, changing the password, everything the support people on chat have been able to tell me. They told me that it was something that they couldn't figure out. I have no idea what is going on or why it won't let me sign in. If anyone here has anywhere I can start to figure this out that would be lovely.
cannot log into dashboard due to urlsite change at wordpress
I cannot log into dashboard of the old website site (www.ichirofilms.com/blog) as I have changed the urlsite at the general settings of dashboard. Our intention was to load a new theme at a new site. Since we are unable to login to the dashboard, we go ahead and install wordpress at the new main site(www.ichirofilms.com/wp). So currently , we have 2 website url. Is there any way that I can login to the dashboard of the old website (www.ichirofilms.com/blog) as I need to export the web contents from there. I have tried "Change WordPress address directly in the Database by modify WordPress URL settings in the WordPress database using the phpMyAdmin tool." But it is not working. Pls help answer me questions:
1. How to know what is url of the old website?

2. Currently, we have backup the old website using the backup wizard in cpanel and trying to recover it. but it is not working too?
3. So what else can I do to make access to the dashboard of the old website (www.ichirofilms.com/blog) so that I can access the contents there?

Help!!!! Thanks too :)

Why can't I log into the WordPress admin dashboard?
I moved over my website last night, uploaded all files and the SQL database. I'm able to view my site, and all of the content works fine. The only problem I'm having is that when I try to login to my wordpress dashboard, I get the following error:

an error occurred while processing this directive

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Hello, Thank you for your question about logging into your WordPress admin section. Sorry to hear you have lost contact with the old site. You can try editing the WordPress wp-config.php file directly. That should bring back the active site at the old URL. Best, Christopher M.

Hello, Thank you for your question about WordPress login issues. We are happy to help further but will need some additional information. When I go to your login page, it is loading. What happens when you try to login? For example are you getting a blank page, or does it load indefinitely? Have you enabled WordPress Debugging? This can provide more detailed errors for developers. If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below. Thank you, John-Paul

Are you getting any specific errors or are you getting a message that says your password is incorrect?

Hello, Thanks for the question! I did a little research on the issue and it appears to be caused by a plugin as per this . You can use our article for troubleshooting WordPress plugins, or you can refer to the suggestions in the post. I hope that helps! If you continue to have the same problem, please provide some more information on the issue so that we can continue to troubleshoot it (e.g. URL, steps to duplicate the problem, version info, plugins). Regards, Arnel C.

To view your username as well as reset your password, you have several options to do so. The following article will assist you with it: Resetting your WordPress Admin Password For your account security, please also be sure not to post things like usernames and passwords here as well because this is a public message board that anyone can see.

Hello JFog214,

I see the domain name was registered yesterday. After a domain registration, it can take up to 24 hours for that information to get around the web. What you are seeing likely just means the domain is in its propagation time frame. I can see the login screen at http://www.thisishowtobetall.com/wp-admin from here, so it may also be working for you now.

Best Regards,

Hi jpcullen70,

Thanks for posting your question. I'm sorry you were having trouble with migrating your WordPress website. I'm more than happy to assist you.

Are you still having the issues you mentioned? I checked to make sure the domain is pointed to your hosting account via the nameservers and everything seems to be in order. Keep in mind that any change to DNS can take up to 24 hours to take effect.

I was able to reach your wp-admin page without reproducing the error you are seeing. If you still need assistance please feel free to contact us.

Thanks!

Tim S
