I have a wordpress website and I was using Jetpack without any problems for almost an year until I updated it to version 3.0.0. After completing the installation, whenever I try to activate Jetpack I get the following error:

Your website needs to be publicly accessible to use Jetpack: site_inaccessible
Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [HTTP 406]. Ask your web host if they allow connections from WordPress.com.

How do I fix this?

I have seen his issue before in which there was an issue with other plugins interacting with the WordPress installation that was causing the connection to fail. To troubleshoot the issue, I recommend disabling all other plugins and enabling them one by one to see if that helps. If not, try making a new installation of WordPress and installing Jetpack to it. From there, you can then determine what is different between the two installations and locate the culprit that is causing the issue.
