Best search engine for web site?

I have one website. It has about 500 pages, but unfortunately most of the free search engines only do up to 250 pages, then they charge an outrageous amount. I mostly just need the engine myself when I am trying to find something to show someone. So it is hardly worth a fee, let alone a monthly fee. Any suggestions for the best search engine to install? I am looking at a $100 one-time fee from Wrensoft.

Unfortunately, I am unaware of a search solution that is effective, free, and does not display ads. Usually, you will just get two of those options. I personally recommend Google Custom Search in which their free option will display ads in the same way that Google does on their site, but they will pay you for clicks on them. You also have the ability to pay for ad-free search as well.
