Hello,

I get this error message when I try to activate jetpack:

Your website needs to be publicly accessible to use Jetpack: site_inaccessible Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [HTTP 500]. Ask your web host if they allow connections from WordPress.com. If you need further assistance, contact Jetpack Support: http://jetpack.me/support/

Please help!

Hello, I took a look at your WordPress site and did see that you had multiple Jetpack HTTP 500 errors in your access logs. When accessing the xmlrpc.php script directly, I was also getting a 500 error. I noticed there were also some .htaccess: \xe2\x80\x8b\xe2\x80\ x8b\xe2\x80\x8b> directive missing closing '>', referer: /wp-admin/admin.php?page=jetpack entries in the Apache error log for the server. I attempted to disable your WordPress plugins in bulk, and was then able to access the xmlrpc.php script without issue. I re-enabled all of your plugins a few seconds later, and the requests continued to function properly. So I'm not sure if you were also working on your .htaccess file at the same time and resolved the issue, or if it was indeed a problem with a plugin temporarily. Please let us know if you're still having issues getting JetPack to connect to your site now. - Jacob
