Hello Jeffrun36, and thanks for your question. What metadata where you looking to change on your website? That particular subject is very broad, as there is everything from simply making sure your headings are descriptive of your page's content, to going in and adding alternative text for images to better describe what's going on in them. I would recommend reading our article on Google Penguin and the impact on SEO, as the SEO game has drastically changed over the last year. Search engines like Google don't rely as heavily on you optimizing your pages for them, and instead are showing more concentrated focus on propelling sites with engaging unique content to the top of search results with things such as social signals from social media sites, and also the reputation or authority of the people and websites that link to your content. Some really good resources would be: Google Webmaster Guidelines for the inside-scoop on what search engines are looking at. Moz's Beginner's Guide to SEO which covers a huge range of SEO topics.
