How do I assure my emails are makimg it to their destination?

I've recently tested my domain email address with a buddy at his work email, and he said it took a day to get to him, and went straight to his spam folder. I've tried using the Email Trace feature on cPanel, yet it turns up no results on all addresses I check.
I need to be certain these emails are getting to their destination, as I use this as my professional email account. What should I do?

Hello WHgraphicdesign, Emails that don't make it to their destination will generate an error called a bounce. And you will receive that bounce in email - this is the way that ALL email servers work on the internet. If want to know if your message has email has been delivered, then you should see the option when composing the mail to receive notice when it is delivered - this is called "Delivery Status notification" . The notice will appear in your email inbox. If you are still having problems, you should be receiving email bounces. We can test directly from the server here as well to see what's happening if necessary. If you continue to have problems with delivery, please reply with more information on in the issue such as a bounce message or the email address to which you are trying to deliver. If you are trying to keep this information private, then please contact our live technical support department. All posts on the Support Center are deemed public domain. If you have any further questions or require further assistance, please let us know! Regards, Arnel C.
