Redirecting to a second domain name

Hello,
I currently use inmotion hosting service for my domain name fleurix.com. I have just purchased the domain name mchristopherson.com from another domain registration service with the hopes that I could also use my inmotion hosting for that as well. It was my understanding that I could do this through adding mchristopherson.com as an addon domain name, but once I added it, I noticed the website only works with the address mchristopherson.fleurix.com. Is it possible to configure this so that I can have the domain name just be mchristopherson.com? Thanks.

Hello Empirants, Since you have already registered the domain name, you would simply have to change the name servers. I checked mchristopherson.com domain and it is already pointed to our hosting service, but the main issue is that you just made the change (or registered the domain name) as of today. New domain addresses are not instantaneous - they do require some time for the addition of a new address to be recognized on the web. You will need to allow up to 24 hours for the change to take place - this is called propagation time. Once the period of propagation is complete, then you will be able to use the new address properly and without it being a subdomain to your primary domain on the account. I hope this helps to provide the answer that you need! If you require any further assistance, please let us know. Regards, Arnel C.
