How to open new port with SSH putty?

I had installed openfire in VPS using SSH.. but cor client connection need to open some ports

Using $vi /etc/sysconfig/iptables I had added below lines

-A INPUT -p tcp -i eth0 --dport 5222 -j ACCEPT
-A INPUT -p udp -i eth0 --dport 5222 -j ACCEPT
-A INPUT -p tcp -i eth0 --dport 7777 -j ACCEPT
-A INPUT -p udp -i eth0 --dport 7777 -j ACCEPT
-A INPUT -p tcp -i eth0 --dport 9090 -j ACCEPT
-A INPUT -p udp -i eth0 --dport 9090 -j ACCEPT
-A INPUT -p tcp -i eth0 --dport 9091 -j ACCEPT
-A INPUT -p udp -i eth0 --dport 9091 -j ACCEPT

After this I had restarted configurations by

$iptables-restore < /etc/sysconfig/iptables

Still port not working.. so please help me out.
