Shared SSL on Magento

I am trying to setup SSL on my Magento site. I would like to use the inmotion shared SSL. I followed the instructions here (https://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/edu/magento/302-magento-regular-ssl-protocol), but they don't seem to work for a shared SSL.

How do I configure Magento to get it to work with a shared SSL?

Hello Calixies, The article that you mention: How to Get Magento to use both regular and secure connections, notes that you have purchased an SSL. It was not set for using the shared SSL. The main problem with using a Shared SSL is that it is using a DIFFERENT URL than the one that was used to create your Magento store URLs. This means having to manipulate the base URL to use the shared SSL format. When I asked about this with a regular Magento user, they suggested against it. They mentioned that it could possibly break the store. You may want to look at purchasing a dedicated SSL. Pricing varies depending on you want to use the SSL certificate and on how much protection you're requiring. InMotion Hosting uses Comodo for its certificates, but you are not required to purchase them through us or our vendor. However, you might be surprised at the affordability of a decent SSL certificate. We do apologize for the frustration with the SSL certificate issue. Our recommendation is that you definitely get one, especially if you're trying to secure sales on your Magento website.
