The IMAP server has issued an unrecognized greeting?

I use Windows Live email application. I set it up according to the information provided. Now, my application said that the IMAP server greeting is: "K Hello there." What in the world? Why is the greeting talking to me? And, what do I do to be able to send and receive mail?

Thank you for your question SachsLaSeur03! Sorry for the trouble with your Windows Live Mail connection. The errors shows you are using port 110 for IMAP. Port 110 is a POP connection. Please try 143 for incoming and 587 for outgoing on non SSL IMAP connections. For more information, please see the following link. Getting Started Guide: Email Best Regards, James R
